Better Communication, Better Care: Provider Tools to Care for Diverse Populations

This free toolkit from Industry Collaborative Effort (ICE) contains brief practical tools created by a nation-wide team of health care professionals. Topics include diversity, cultural awareness, communication across language barriers, common signs and phrases in multiple languages, health literacy, and a provider self-assessment tool.

Cultural Competence Health Practitioner Assessment

Free web-based assessment offered by the National Center for Cultural Competence at Georgetown University. Upon completion, providers receive a strengths-based score and a list of suggested learning experiences to improve weaknesses.

Health Literacy Kit

The American Medical Association offers a kit containing a video, manual, and continuing medical education credits (CME).
